In preparation for the 150 Year Celebration, a group of treasure hunters unearthed our School Time Capsule, buried at the Centenary Celebrations in 1974. We were concerned about the condition of the articles inside but most were in good condition. We had to call in the heavy equipment (it was well buried) and after persistence managed to bring it all to the surface. Many items of school work, artefacts of the time, a Balonne Beacon from 1974 and souvenirs from the Rotary club were inside. Some items were a bit damp and mouldy but on the whole, our predecessors did a wonderful job. These will all be dried out and be on display at our celebrations on May 4, 2024.
